Safe-Guard 10% Suspension Dewormer for Cattle & Goats

Safe-Guard 10% Suspension Dewormer is a broad-spectrum fenbendazole-based dewormer for use in beef and dairy cattle, as well as goats. It helps remove and control key internal parasites, including lungworms, stomach worms, and intestinal worms. Contains 10% fenbendazole (100 mg/mL).

Safe for use in breeding animals, pregnant cows, lactating dairy cattle, and stressed cattle. Not approved for veal calves, dairy/beef calves under 2 months, or lactating goats.

Indications

Cattle: For treatment and control of:

  • Lungworms (Dictyocaulus viviparus)
  • Adult brown stomach worms (Ostertagia ostertagi)
  • Adult and L4 barberpole worms (Haemonchus contortus, H. placei)
  • Adult and L4 small stomach worms (Trichostrongylus axei)
  • Hookworms (Bunostomum phlebotomum)
  • Thread-necked intestinal worms (Nematodirus helvetianus)
  • Small intestinal worms (Cooperia punctata, C. oncophora)
  • Bankrupt worms (Trichostrongylus colubriformis)
  • Nodular worms (Oesophagostomum radiatum)

Goats: For the treatment and control of adult stomach worms (Haemonchus contortus, Teladorsagia circumcincta).

Dosage & Administration

Give orally at 2.3 mg/lb (5 mg/kg) of body weight — equivalent to 2.3 mL per 100 lb. Shake well before use.

Example Dosages

Cattle:

  • 100 lb – 2.3 mL
  • 500 lb – 11.5 mL
  • 1000 lb – 23.0 mL
  • 1500 lb – 34.5 mL

Goats:

  • 25 lb – 0.6 mL
  • 50 lb – 1.2 mL
  • 100 lb – 2.3 mL
  • 125 lb – 2.9 mL

Weigh animals accurately. Underdosing may lead to treatment failure and increase resistance risk.

Withdrawal Periods

  • Cattle (meat): 8 days
  • Cattle (milk): 48 hours
  • Goats (meat): 6 days
  • Goats (milk): Do not use in lactating goats

Storage & Handling

Store at or below 25°C (77°F). Do not freeze. Shake well before each use.

Warnings & Precautions

  • Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use in pre-ruminating calves or lactating goats.
  • Veterinary consultation recommended for parasite management and rotation planning.

Resistance Management

Use with a comprehensive parasite control program. To monitor efficacy, conduct fecal egg counts or other diagnostic testing before and after treatment.

Easy and reliable.

We feed our cattle liquid feed (syrup) in tanks. We take a quart of this and pour into the tank when it's half full. Takes the cows about three weeks to eat it all and we do this spring and fall. It's easy and this way even the baby calves get it too. W
