Clostridium Perfringens Type C-Escherichia Coli Bacterin-Toxoid

LitterGuard® is a vaccine for healthy pregnant sows and gilts that helps protect piglets against neonatal diarrhea (scours) through the passive transfer of protective maternal antibodies. Vaccination helps provide protection against neonatal diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli) producing heat-labile toxin or having the K99, K88, 987P, or F41 adherence factors, as well as beta toxin produced by Clostridium perfringens Type C.

Features:

• E. coli Protection: Helps protect against K99, K88, 987P, and F41 strains of E. coli.
• Heat-Labile Toxin: Provides protection against heat-labile toxin produced by susceptible E. coli.
• Clostridium perfringens Type C: Helps protect piglets against Type C-associated enteritis.
• For Pregnant Swine: Designed for vaccination of healthy pregnant sows to help protect their piglets.
• Passive Piglet Protection: Vaccination supports protection of newborn piglets through maternal immunity.

Active Ingredient:

Escherichia coli (enterotoxigenic strain). Clostridium perfringens type C.

Directions:

Shake well before use. Aseptically administer 2 mL intramuscularly or subcutaneously to healthy pregnant swine.

• Primary Vaccination: Administer 2 doses, 3 weeks apart, during the last half of pregnancy.
• Before Farrowing: Give the second dose at least 2 weeks prior to farrowing.
• Subsequent Farrowings: Revaccinate with a single 2 mL dose at least 2 weeks before each subsequent farrowing.

Available Sizes:

• 100 mL vial: 50 doses

Storage:

Store at 2°-8°C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened.

Withdrawal:

Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.

Cautions/Warnings:

Contains thimerosal as a preservative. Do not mix with other products. In case of human exposure, contact a physician.
