Product description

Albon

Albon is a low-dosage, rapidly absorbed, long-acting sulfonamide oral tablet designed to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections commonly encountered in dogs and cats. Administered once daily, it maintains effective therapeutic blood levels for 24 hours, ensuring sustained effectiveness. For easier administration, especially for pets reluctant to swallow tablets, Albon is also available in a delicious, custard-flavored liquid form.

Specifications:

  • Active Ingredient: Sulfadimethoxine
  • Suitable For: Dogs & Cats
  • Administration: Oral
  • Product Form: Tablet
  • Health Conditions Treated: Coccidiosis, Skin Infections, Respiratory Infections, Urinary Tract Infections
  • Drug Class: Antibiotic

Indications: Albon, containing sulfadimethoxine, is indicated for a broad spectrum of bacterial infections in dogs and cats, including respiratory, genitourinary, and soft-tissue infections, as well as bacterial enteritis linked to coccidiosis in dogs.

Possible Side Effects: While rare, some pets may develop sulfa crystals in the urine or experience side effects such as dry eyes, anemia, fever, reduced appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, joint inflammation, kidney damage, or skin rashes. Discontinue use and consult your veterinarian if any of these symptoms appear. Discuss any side effects with your vet that may seem unusual or particularly bothersome.

Precautions: Ensure pets drink enough water during treatment. If there is no improvement within 2 to 3 days, reevaluate the diagnosis. Do not use Albon in animals with severe liver issues, blood disorders, or known allergies to sulfonamides.
