SSD (silver sulfadiazine) is anti-infective agent used to treat burns in cats and dogs. The most common side effects are irritation and pain. SSD should not be used in animals allergic to sulfur products. The medication should not be used in pregnant or lactating animals. SSD is usually applied once to twice daily. Consult your veterinarian about administration for your pet.
