| | Product Details: | EPIDIDYMITIS (BRUCELLA OVIS):A specific infectious bacterial sheep disease that occurs in the U.S. and practically every sheep raising country of the world. In rams it is characterized by epididymitis orchitis and impaired fertility and may be transmitted from infected to non-infected rams by direct contact in the absence of ewes. In ewes by placentitis and abortion. In lambs by septicemia and perinatal mortality. Infected rams may shed the infective agent in semen over periods in excess of 4 years. Store in dark at 2° to 7° C. BACTERIN: An inactivated aqueous culture of isolate from the epididymitis of an infected ram. Bacterin is adsorbed with aluminum hydroxide. WHEN TO VACCINATE: Ram lambs at weaning and mature rams may be vaccinated. Annual revaccination 2-4 weeks before breeding is recommended. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Shake well before aseptically injecting 2 ml subcutaneously in loose skin behind shoulder or at side of neck. Repeat in 30 to 60 days and annually. PRECAUTIONS: Use entire contents when vial is first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
