Lister Blade Care

Tensioning and Oiling Lister Blades
The correct tensioning of clipper blades is essential for effective clipping and increases the life of clipper blades. Lister blades are easy to fit and tension correctly.

With Lister clippers, fit the blades, tension bolt, spring and nut. To achieve the correct tension, turn the nut down firmly until it will go no further. Then turn it back by one and a half turns using the marker. Oil the blades liberally before use, between the teeth, the blades at the side, through the hole to the crank roller and then wipe off the excess oil.

Oiling Blades
It is essential to oil blades regularly and thoroughly with a recommended oil, not a spray oil. Always use Lister's R15 oil or a very light machine oil. It is recommended that blades are oiled every 10-15 minutes during clipping. Oil should be applied to the points located on the clipper heads that are referred to in the instruction booklet for each clipper.
