Do not exercise your dog on the wheel immediately after feeding. Allow 30 minutes between a meal and exercising.
Place your new wheel within the dog's normal space so they get accustomed to this new addition.
Set the optional brake or hand-turn the wheel slowly to get started.
Place a favorite toy or treat on the wheel to encourage entry.
Use treats to coax the dog onto the wheel.
Over time relax the brake tension to allow the wheel more and more motion.
As the dog gets use to the motion, slowly advance the wheel to cause walking.
Keep your training sessions to approximately 10 minutes, or as long as the dog is comfortable walking on the wheel.
Training your dog to use the house or kennel mounted exercise wheel:
Do not exercise your dog on the wheel immediately after feeding. Allow 30 minutes between a meal and exercising.
The wheel is part of the dog's normal space and the dog will become accustomed to it.

Wheel entry is a normal process of living in the "house". Placing treats on the tread will encourage entry and use.
Over time, relax the brake tension to allow the wheel more and more motion.
The dog will increase walking and running as familiarity increases.
Keep your training sessions to approximately 10 minutes.
