Active Ingredient(s): Contains: 0.12% Chlorhexidine gluconate 0.05 cetylpyridinium chloride and zinc in a soothing alcohol-free vehicle. Indications: For use in the prevention of plaque calculus and gum disease in dogs and cats. C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse is a soothing refreshing and palatable rinse containing chlorhexidine gluconate cetylpyridinium chloride and zinc. The antimicrobial activity of chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride combined with the anti-plaque and anti-calculus properties of zinc together can aid in the prevention of tooth and gum disease. Encapsulation of chlorhexidine in Spherulites allows for slow release and long-lasting benefit. This alcohol-free formulation will leave your pet with clean breath while providing soothing temporary relief of minor gum irritation. Chlorhexidine-based C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse provides effective plaque control without brushing. Great way to clean teeth when brushing isn't possible. A unique bent-stem applicator is also included for easy administration.

Directions: Shake well before use. Rinse daily following each meal as directed by your veterinarian. Hold the bottle in the upright position and below your pet's field of vision. Gently elevate the upper lip to expose the teeth and gums. Point and squeeze to apply a gentle stream of C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse. The foaming formulation of C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse will allow a quick dispersion and complete coverage of the oral cavity even in those areas that are difficult to reach. Avoid touching the gum with the nozzle to avoid any injury in case of movement of your pet.

Discussion: Importance of oral hygiene: Plaque is the soft grayish-white film which is formed continuously on tooth surface by the proliferation of bacteria. Within days plaque mineralizes into calculus or tartar which acts as a framework for further plaque development. If not eliminated plaque bacteria can infect the gums and structures which support the teeth. The result is gingivitis and eventually periodontal disease which causes bad breath pain and tooth loss. Chronic oral infection can also lead to disease in other parts of the body including the heart lungs and kidneys. Good oral hygiene is important to your pet's overall health.
